“RFID Vision is the bridge between optical and mechanical systems and RFID geolocation and identification to create hybrid systems for process automation. Our goal is to help identify, target and develop applications for RFID technology for rapid commercialization where access to real-time data is critical. By augmenting optical systems, such as Optical Motion Tracking and “Machine Vision” with RFID, RFID Vision will allow “smart cameras” to locate and track objects in real-time. Applications in this space would include security, quality control and interactive television. Combined with mechanical systems such as relays and servo-mechanical systems, RFID technology would allow stronger market penetration in the areas of assembly line sorting, advanced robotics and location-based entertainment. RFID Vision’s purpose is to accelerate market growth in industries that have yet to exploit the benefits of RFID technology. We partner with existing RFID industry leaders as a catalyst for innovation. RFID Vision began with one simple idea: How to get RFID technology into the hands of consumers in a way that is meaningful and relevant. But rather just imagine this possibility; RFID’s mission is to bring the promise of real-time data acquisition and processing through RFID technology to full commercial fruition. This will be done by strengthening revenues from industries that RFID already has demonstrated benefit as well as monetizing new industries and opportunities that hadn’t been discovered before. We joined the Dayton RCC hub because we couldn’t find such like-minded innovators or the same amount of collaborative effort like the RFID center anywhere else in the world.”
